This recipe comes from my birth mother who learned it when she lived in Ethiopia from her "seritenya", Negatwa. A seritenya is a general house servant - cooking, cleaning, that sort of thing. My bmother now makes them for her bubelahs (grandchildren).

Take however many bananas you want to make
Slice them the long way to make two long pieces.
Coat them with flour.
Fry in butter (yes, real cholesterol-laden butter) until brown and a bit crispy on both sides.
Remove to a plate.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Eat.
