Frank H. Netter, M.D. (1906-1991)

Originally a commercial artist, he attended medical school in the 1930's and became the defining talent of medical illustration. His Atlas of Human Anatomy is universally used by health professionals and artists; medical students and lawyers are particularly fond of it for its clear and accurate illustrations.

It kicks ass on the woodcuts of Gray's Anatomy.
