The town of Folkestone, England has a long and rich tradition of soccer/football clubs dating back to the 1880s.

Folkestone Invicta was founded in 1936 as an amateur club, playing in the East Kent Amateur League (which later on became the Kent County League). They moved into Cheriton Road and joined the Kent League in 1991. Over the past decade, Invicta has climbed the steps of the English pyramid, eventually reaching the Doc Marten sponsored Southern League Premier Division for the 2000/01 season.
