Fess Elisha Parker, Jr. (born August 16, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas, died at the ripe old age of 85 on March 18, 2010) was an American actor that not many people remember these days. His most famous roles were playing Davey Crockett for Disney in 1955 and Daniel Boone from 1964 through 1970. He also appeared in one of my favorite B-movies, "Them!", a flick about giant ants. He played a pilot that was sent to an asylum after claiming his aircraft was attacked by giant mutant insects.

He was a frequent show-up character actor in live action Disney films, including The Great Locomotive Chase, Westward Ho, and Old Yeller. In fact, he complained that all of his Disney roles were the same. When Disney refused to loan him out to other studios to appear in Westerns (he was contracted to Disney Studios at the time), he eventually left.

E2 Trivia: The noder Twisted_Missus wanted to marry him when she was a little girl because she didn't want to change her last name.
