The Federation of European Employers or FedEE describes itself as "the leading organisation for progressive employers in Europe". But despite its name the FedEE is not a representative organisation, it was founded in 1989 with money provided by the European Commission, and exists to sell the idea of Europe, Europe in the sense of the European Union and the Single European Market.
It now considers itself to be an independent initiative and essentially provides support services to the Personnel or Human Resource functions of large companies with a Pan-European reach, based on the premise that the spread of the Euro and the adoption of English as a common language, will make a unified approach to corporate policy in this area a practical reality.
