Fader Brown is the hero in many of G.K. Chestertons novels. He is a catholic priest from Essex. He wears a big hat and small glasses.

The stories about Fader Brown are all very well written detective stories. Fader Brown has a very unusual style when it comes to finding the criminals, instead of looking around with magnifying glasses like Sherlock Holmes he tries to build himself a mental picture of the criminal.
