from on High coming Down
astride sleipnir one dim eve
having betrayed the World for a Bo seed
am now riverside, resting, with Certainty
that the grey veil approaches.

the Sky, no longer tended, has lost its color
and leaves and pebbles and fish are dimmed
Blood runs into a great black pool
at which i now arrive, stopping,
to dip my fingers into my fallen once-Brothers.

here at the end of time,
in the darkness of loss and sleep
and howl and roar of the Weatherbird's work
to end all things, i bow Down,
and push my fingers into the Earth.
