Emilio Pucci is a man of many talents. He spent time as an aristocrat, war hero, fighter pilot, olympic skier, and later, (and more famously) a wildly successful designer, as well as a politician and winemaker.

I am deeply saddened to admit I adore his (only a little short of tacky) bright geometric prints, which were inspired by racing flags and hippie haight-ashbury culture. The dresses he designed were flattering, and easily packed, so of course his label became a favourite with typical jetset society.

He designed a flag for the moon, on the Apollo 15 mission.

He is Italian. His highly collectible clothes are now truly valuable vintage.
