is a private, coeducational university located in the heart of downtown Boston, Massachusetts
, and devoted exclusively to the fields of communications
and the visual and performing arts. The College was founded in 1880
by minister and noted orator Charles Wesley Emerson
as a "school of oratory."
As of 2011, Emerson College has an annual enrollment of 3,453 undergraduate and 837 graduate students.
