A
gorge located in
Elora, Ontario which was
dammed to generate power for the town's
grist mill. The mill stands today, still supporting the town and its
history by operating as an
inn and restaurant for privleged folk from Rosedale who poke around the town and
generate revenue.
The gorge is surrounded by a
Conservation Area where
camping,
Cross country skiing,
hiking,
fishing and
tubing are of interest to
Americans and stressed out
Torontonians. Composed of
limestone, it is a spectacular place to
wander and
explore if you can deal with
everyone else around you. Everything around you is moist and you can view incredible
erosion patterns and
crevices anomg the
White Cedar forest.
Although the gorge is
beautiful and the town is kept
immaculate, the trail is busy and
defaced where it passes under and through
civic property.
