The cheapness of a multicolored plastic tube, shaped like a real rockstar's microphone but oversized (apx. 10" tall, 4" diameter at it's widest) and a thin rubber wire dangling to mimic a wireless antena. A spring inside acts as resonator: 1) to reproduce the clamor of real vocal performance (without using batteries) 2) to echo with warble and sound when shaken violently. Product of China or Taiwan, R.O.C. or possibly Korea.

The red and yellow box reads:

Echo Mic

"THE PLAYS WITH IT IN
THE FOLLOWING WAYS":

IT DOES NOT USE BATTERY,
IT IS OPERATED WITH ECHO,

A Super-light megaphone with a
lot of enjoyments Such "ECHO
MIC" needs not to use the
power source which the real
megaphone requires, not it uses
loud speaker and amplifier
etc.
With it, we can easily have
good time with the interesting
megaphone with echo.

"WE CAN PLAY WITH ITS ECHO."
One's mouth makes close to its
main body for speaking loudly
or singing songs. The skill
for one is to speak loudly
and then the better echo
we can have.

"IT CAN BE USED FOR ACHIEVING
GOOD EFFECT OF VOICE."

Except that it is used as
megaphone, shake the main
body lightly and you can get
the magic voice to meet the
occasional use.

Then a side panel with fluff-haired Donny & Marie styled cartoon, sassy pre-teen cartoon, and a nubile young thing (again hair in the old Dallas) cartoon. And the following caption:

Pa Pap,
Ma Ma,
I and Lady
employees
to play
with it
together!

Lookee, lookee, see what I'm talking about: http://www.seanet.com/~leahv/html/echo_mic_.htm
