Eli

A character in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. The high priest when Samuel was given to the temple. He blessed Hannah Samuel's mother for her pledging Samuel to the temple. He was prophesied against because of the wickedness of his sons Hophni and Phinchas. Eli died of a broken neck.

Another derogatory term for someone who attends Yale University. I've only known this spelling (It's different than Yalie) from Harvard University students and The Simpsons. Apparently Yale's sports teams are named the Elis.

Mr Burns as a character of The Simpsons was depicted as being is one of them, and he's despised. Rather funny in a subtle way if you ask me, because the writers for the show were Harvard University graduates, and considered Yale their rival.
