DrinkOrDie was a loose confederation of warez traders and software pirates. They once cracked and "released" a warez version of windows 95 before it was officially on the market.
DrinkOrDie was founded in 1993 in Russia by a Russian known as 'Deviator.' It spread to have worldwide influence but was still a main source for Russian hackers or crakers until it died down and went almost completely into oblivion.
Towards the end of 2002 the US Customs Service, the Department of Justice and foreign authorities cracked down on DrinkOrDie members or former members all over the world. DrinkOrDie's website (www.drinkordie.com) is now offline and the only traces left of the once great software piracy ring are a few lonely binary posts on newsgroups.
