Yeah, last night I had one of those dreams you don't want to wake up from.

Vacation was over; time to go back to work. Still dreamy from the heat down there, I was drowsing in the first class section, my beloved beside me. She snuggled closer as the spaceplane's ascent angle increased and the scramjets cut in, leaving Honolulu Interplanetary far behind. Our destination was a space station far above, and from there... somewhere else.

Twenty minutes it took to achieve orbital insertion, twenty minutes spent with fingers laced and her hair tickling my face. She gave me a brilliant smile and unbuckled herself, drifting from her seat to a viewport on the right side of the plane, peering out at the Earth as we left it behind. Her smile of sheer innocent joy, looking at the Earth from space, was the last thing I saw before I woke up...

Sigh. I wanted to stay there.
