Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson is one of the best known poker players in the world. He was born in 1933 in Longworth, Texas, and was headed towards a career in pro basketball before he broke his leg at age 20 and was forced to retire. At that point, he took up poker while attending Hardin-Simmons University, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Brunson won the World Series of Poker championship in 1976 and 1977, the razz title in 1998. In both his 1976 and 1977 wins, his final Texas Hold-em hand was 10-2, resulting in it being dubbed the "Doyle Brunson". His groundbreaking poker book, Super/System, is considered one of the best and most influential books on the game.

Brunson currently lives in Las Vegas (where else?) with his wife Louise, with whom he has three children.
