Chemical Formula: B2H6

Diborane is a colorless gas that can burst into flames from contact with air. If in contact with water, it reduces the hydrogen in the water (eq 1). If Diborane is heated to high temperatures, it decomposes into gaseous hydrogen and pure boron. (eq 2)

eq 1: B2H6 + 6 H2O ---> 2 B(OH)3 + 6 H2
