Treating diaper rash basically consists of gently cleansing the area, and drying it thoroughly, and then applying the following: either a medicated baby powder with zinc oxide, an ointment with zinc oxide, or a combination of the two for about a week at most.

This is especially important before you put baby to bed. The longer the little one's skin has the probability of being in contact with wet/soiled diapers, the more likely there is to be a rash in the morning.

I do not have children, but learned this through acquiring diaper rash myself. Really.
