Radio talk show hostess extraordinaire. Diane Rehm moderates a 2-hour program weekdays on NPR, broadcast from WAMU in Washington, D.C. With impressive and interesting guests, and topics ranging from current affairs to politics to fiction, the popular show has been running for over 20 years.

Rehm herself makes the show what it is. She is the epitome of civility. No matter how rude the caller, or how tongue-tied the guest, her moderation is even and fair.

A book, Finding My Voice, was published after her diagnosis with spasmodic dysphonia in 1999. It chronicles her marriage and broadcast career as well as her challenges with this condition, which affects the one tool crucial to her work -- her voice.
