or Dead Men Don't Pinch. A saying attributed to pirates, used in many pirate books, and spoken by a skull in Disneyland's Pirates of the Carribean right before you go splashing down a slope. However, pirates in general did not kill captives or crew of ships they took over. Captured crew usually gave themselves up easily as most pirates did not subscribe to this saying. Pirate historians of the 18th and 19th centuries invented the saying for fictional vicious pirates to add lurid sensationalism to their works.
