DAC

Digital-to-analog conversion.

A process in which signals with a few defined states (digital) are converted into signals with a theoretically infinite number of states (analog). The opposite of ADC.

Modems are a good example.

Deutschen Alternative Charts; "The German Alternative Charts".
German charts containing the current top 30 alternative music singles and top 10 alternative music albums. The singles and albums are voted on by some 250 disc-jockeys and some 90 music store owners, specialized on this kind of music, and weighed together and presented once a week.

Any type of "alternative" music can generally be on the lists, but usually it narrows down to mostly electronic music in different forms such as EBM, synthpop, industrial, goth, et cetera. Covenant, Assemblage 23, Apoptygma Berzerk and VNV Nation are typical examples of artists often appearing on the DAC charts.
