Cubomania is a form of surrealist collage in which an image is cut into a number of equal squares, which are then reassembled at random or automatically. The method was first invented by the Romanian surrealist Gherashim Luca and is noted, inter alia, for its ability to express sadistic tendencies. Cubomanias are also the results of the procedure.
