A difficult person causing problems for a software development team through destructive behavior. These guys are everywhere, and if you work or have worked with software development you have probably met one. The term "corncob" is frequently used at OMG to descriibe difficult people, but I have failed to track down the origin of the term.

The corncobs, and how to deal with thems, are described in the corncob antipattern in the AntiPatterns book. Some variants of corncob can also be found in the "bad guys" section of the software developer bestiary.

Corn"cob` (k?rn"k?b`), n.

The cob or axis on which the kernels of Indian corn grow.
