An excellent NYC underground rap group, sadly, no longer together. They broke up earlier this year (2001), but with no ill-will towards one another, and it's said that the farewell show they gave was amazing. The group consists of El-P, Big Jus, and DJ Mr. Len. Some tracks to look for are End to End Burners, The Fire In Which You Burn, Last Good Sleep, and Worker Ant Uprise. They have two full LP albums, Funcrusher Plus (which, btw, has some really cool cover art), and Little Johnny from the Hospital, an album of breakbeats and instrumentals. The music has a very gritty offbeat style, so you may be turned off by that, but if you want hip hop that sounds way different than the mainstream stuff, and you like clever wordplay, check these guys out.
