Here in
British Columbia these are stores that sell cold
beer and
wine (also
coolers and
miscellaneous stuff. No more then 10% of alcohol
IIRC). As opposed to
Liquor stores which are
government-owned; these stores are owned by private individuals. Cold beer and wine stores also tend to stay open late on
holidays. Basically this is an attempt by our provincial goverenment to control the consumption of alcohol.
Cold Beer and Wine stores are also commonly known as "See-Bee-Dub" (as in CBW). (Thanks melodrame).
