The Cochran Shoals are located north of Atlanta, Georgia, on the Chattahoochee River.
The shoals are north of Sandy Springs, at the border of Fulton County and Cobb County, a little south of Roswell Georgia.
A small part of the Chattahoochee National Recreational Area (CNRA) is located at Cochran shoals, beside Columns Drive, off Johnson Ferry Road.
Columns Drive was named for the circle of Greek columns someone erected and donated to the community.
Oddly, the beautiful Columns monument gift was torn down to make more room for a golf course.
Cochran shoals is dear to my heart. I spent much of my youth partying on the river there.
