ClanLib is a cross platform game development kit. It provides a platform independent way of dealing with display, sound, input, networking, files, and threads.
The goal of ClanLib is to allow the game developer to focus on stuff that matters. Low-level details are taken care of by classes and functions.
ClanLib uses a resource system to keep track of images, fonts, samples and music. It supports Targa, PCX, JPEG, PNG and BMP(Bitmap) for images. Wave files for sample. Ogg Vorbis and MikMod for music.
ClanLib currently supports Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 with dx3 installed, Windows 2000 and Linux. The following display targets are supported under linux: X11, PTC, kernel framebuffer and GGI.
