Chuuk (also known as Truk, Ruk, Hogoleu, Torres, Ugulat, and Lugulus) is an group of islands in the Pacific Ocean, part of the Federated States of Micronesia. This island group has been part of the Spanish, German and Japanese empires, and much of the Japanese naval fleet was based there during World War II.

Tourism is the mainstay of the Chuuk economy. The island group is particularly popular among scuba divers due to the large amount of wrecked World War II era ships in Truk Lagoon.
