Ce`ru*lig"none (?), n. [L. coeruleus cerulean + lignum wood + E. quinone.] Chem.

A bluish violet, crystalline substance obtained in the purification of crude wood vinegar. It is regarded as a complex quinone derivative of diphenyl; -- called also cedriret.
