A brand name of condensed milk in the UK. Old people seem to like
Carnation, certainly my grandparents seemed to smother any dessert
they ate with it. I've a feeling that this is because during the War
it caught be bought as part of your milk ration (which was far more
generous than the sugar ration), but it was sweet-tasting.
