The CallCenter Orbital Laser is an idea pioneered during a stint with Compuserve Customer Service and Tech Support. There would be an satellite with a heavy duty, solar-power recharged laser cannon launched into orbit with company funds. Then, upon calling, customers would be forced to give their Latitude and Longitude precisely (neccessitating the issuance of GPS systems to all users.) These coordinates would then be entered into a relay computer at the techs desk. This relay would then queue customers for termination, whilst the tech insured that the End User not move from their location. This would greatly increase Average Handle Time, and lower the cost to the call center, since networking dumb-terminals to relay the coordinates would be easy and inexpensive.
