History/Info:

SR-18 is primarily known as the main route into Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake. It is a fairly rural route, although it starts in San Bernardino on the corner of Highland Avenue (Former SR-30/SR-210) and Waterman Avenue, going northbound on the former. Interestingly, before state routes were offically marked, SR-18 appears to have continued southernly from Colton all the way to Lakewood on what was then US 91. It then followed SR 19 to the Long Beach Traffic Circle. Although all of this appears to have disappeared sometime in the late 1950s. It's northern terminus appears to be its junction with California Highway 138 at the Pearblossom* and Antelope Highway.

* Palmdale Road changes to Pearblossom Highway.
