An Italian drink, literally corrected coffee.

It simply is a small cup of espresso "corrected" with a shot of alcoholic beverage.

After a friend of mine discovered it during my years in Rome (and he was very excited about his discovery - I think he loved the name of the drink as much as the drink itself), I used to have a caffe corretto con sambuca (coffee corrected with sambuca) every once in a while.

It is certainly an interesting combination as, theoretically, coffee (especially espresso) and alcohol have the opposite effect on human physiology, so, again theoretically, they should cancel out each other's negative effects while leaving you with a pleasant taste in your palates.
