CSELT is the Centro Studi E Laboratori di Telecomunications.
It changed it's name to
Telecom Italia Lab on March 1, 2001
Located in
Torino,
Italy it is the research division of
Telecom Italia, and has been in existence since
December
5,
1964.
Through its own research activities, CSELT contributes to innovation in new
telecommunications services, advanced applications and
integrated solutions as well as developing advanced systems
scenarios.

PR for them.
Research into all things telecomunicational (
is that a word?) go on here, including research into
Interactive TV,
fiber-optics,
hardware and
software for
telephone networks, and lots of other
stuff.
