The identification code of an
internal combustion engine produced by
Vauxhall/
Opel (production ended in the late 1990s). It was installed in the
Cavalier/
Vectra-A
Turbo and the
Calibra Turbo, produced from about 1992-1995 (British 'K' through 'M'-
reg).
The engine is a 4-cylinder DOHC (double overhead camshafts) configuration and the code identifies the engine as:
The engine as used in the Cavalier/Calibra Turbo variants uses a Bosch Motronic 2.7 engine management system. It produces 204BHP at 5600RPM and 206.5lb/ft of torque at 2400RPM. The two cars that use it have quite a cult following in Britain as they are not only the most powerful stock versions of their respective models (not to mention highly tuneable) but are also the rarest.
