Located in Augusta, GA, the Butt Memorial Bridge was dedicated in 1914 by President William Howard Taft in honor of Major Archibald Butt, who died aboard the Titanic in 1912. When the ornate and historic bridge was in danger of being torn down in the mid-90's, the Butt Memorial Bridge Legal Defense Fund organized a fundraiser, ButtJam '95, to help save the bridge.
