Brian "Butch" Vig was born in
Viroqua,
Wisconsin and dropped out of
med school to begin his career as
drummer for the bands
Spooner and
Firetown. Now in his forties, his career has involved some of the most influential rock bands of all time. Currently working with his band
Garbage (you know, they did
that Queer Song and
that Bond Song) on their third album (
Beautiful Garbage), he is most famous as the
producer of:
Butch is man with many fingers in many pies, he has also worked as mixer/producer/engineer with House of Pain, Korn, Ash, Soul Asylum and U2 to name but a few.
