Originally the Brooklyn Museum, intended to be the largest museum in the world when the current building (just part of the original design) was designed in 1893.

Downgraded to just an art museum in the 1930s. Its collections of Egyptian and African art are among the finest in the USA.

Located on Eastern Parkway, where it intersects Washington Avenue. Has a convenient stop on the #2 and #3 lines of the subway. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
