80s British pop group with Jimmy Somerville as the lead singer. Formed in 1984 disbanded two years later, not due to the traditional musical differences but in this case due to political disagreement.

Bronski Beat were arguably the first openly gay pop group in the UK (Boy George's Culture Club was not particularly thought of as a gay band at this time) and had a number of hits both in Europe and the USA, including Smalltown Boy, Tell Me Why and Aint Necessarily So. After leaving Bronski Beat Jimmy Sommerville went on to further musical success with The Communards.
