You will need
Preheat the grill to high.
Place the bramley apples, peppers, onions, tomatoes and garlic in a large roasting tin, add the oil and toss well.
Cook under a grill for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until charred.
Transfer the roast fruit and vegetables to a food processor and blend again until smooth.
Add the tomato juice and 150ml/1/4 pint water and blend again until smooth.
Push through a nylon sieve and place in a pan.
Gently bring to the boil. Serve.
