Some disagreement is still going on as to whether the Bornean bay cat is a separate species (which would be Felis badia) or a subspecies of the Asian golden cat. All that is available for study is six skins and one stuffed museum specimen caught in 1874. This species or subspecies is certainly endangered -- it is rarely seen, and it has only ever been observed on the island of Borneo, which has lost a lot of possible habitat due to logging and human building. They are thought to eat birds, small mammals, monkeys, and carrion.
