It's not "Bills of Lading" which would imply Multiple receipts for One shipment. It is "Bill of Lading": a document that is tendured to the carrier as a receipt for a shipment which must contain within it the following:

Shipper's Address

Consignee's address

A shipper's reference number

Description of the Articles

which must be presented in tabular form

and contain the following:

Number of each differring Article per line

Hazardous Materials boolean flag

brief description of the Article

subtotal of the weight for that line of Articles

Applicable class or rate for those Articles

Total weight of the shimpent

Other things that can be found on a bill of lading are the following:

COD information

Freight charges Prepaid/Collect field

Section 7

terms and conditions.

consignee's purchase Order number (PO No.)
