Bankrupt on Selling is a brooding, depressing, all acoustic number that's rather quiet for Modest Mouse. It's fairly easy to play on a steel-stringed acoustic guitar. Following is tablature for my one-guitar arrangement of the song:

Note: The strumming rhythm is not indicated in the tab, only the chord changes. The guitar is never tacit. The song is in 6/8 time and the time is marked underneath the staff. "1 . ." represents "1 2 3", but allows for measures to stand out visually.

Lyrics
------
      C seq
Well, all the apostles they're sitting in swings
           Am seq
Saying I'd sell off my savior for a set of new rings
         E seq
And some sandles with the style of straps
                       F
That cling best to the era

    C seq, etc.
So, all of the businessers in their unlimited hell
           Am
Where they buy and the sell and they sell all their trash
        E
To each other, they're sick of it all
                        F
And they're bankrupt on selling

      C
Well, all of the angels they'd sell off your soul
      Am
For a set of new wings and then anything gold
        E
They remember all the people they loved their old friends
         F
And I've seen through 'em all seen through 'em all
                                  C
seen through most everything
                                               Am
All the people you knew were the actors

                      E
              All the people you knew

                       F
              Were the actors

      C
Well, I'll go to college and I'll learn some big words
         Am
And I'll talk real loud, goddamn right I'll be heard
           E
You'll remember the guy who said all those big words
                      F
He must've learned in college

         C
Well, it took a long time I came clean with myself
       Am
I come clean out of love with my lover
        E
I still love her, loved her more when she used to be sober
          F
And I was kinder
