The 911 call facilities for Baltimore County, Maryland are located in the new court house in Towson, MD off Chesapeake Ave. The emergency services area is divided into three sections, the 911 call center in the center, and the Baltimore County Fire Department and Baltimore County Police Department dispatchers on either side of that room. All dispatches are sent from where they arrive to the people who need them electronically by operators through console sessions an AIX-based X windows system. In some cases units may be dispatched directly through an MDT in their units. There are a minimum of 11 staff on duty at any time of the day or night, with the ability to expand to a much higher number when storms or other disasters pass through the area. Also located near the center are the underground facilities of the Baltimore County EOC.
