Autodesk Inventor is a 2d/3d design program created to aid engineers and designers and help simplify things. It features:

• Fewer commands than a standard CAD program, but allows for more powerful design to take place
• Full Product Definition by helping you validate your design performance with virtual prototypes, create assembly instructions for manufacturing, and embed business intelligence.
• Assembly without parametric equations or relationships, and modify assemblies at any point, in any order, no matter how you originally constrain the parts.
• Sheet Metal Design which allows for bending and flat patterns.
• The ability to create drawings which show the dimensions, and different sides of a specific part or assembly.

The latest version out is Autodesk Inventor 8
