Mostly known for its cheap and sucky gas brand ARCO. The company has interests in oil, gas, chemicals, copper, aluminum, and coal.

The company that is known as Atlantic Richfield started out orginally as 3 separate companies. The Atlantic Refining Company, formed in 1870, taken over by Standard Oil and then became reindependent following its break-up. In 1911 this company merged with the Richfield Oil Corporation founded in 1905. The last company to be acquired was in 1977, the Anaconda Company, formed in 1875 and was a copper giant.

Today, the company is the 15th largest industrial corporation in the world.
