Amaethon: ah-MAY-thon
Welsh: plow

Welsh god of agriculture. He is mentioned only once in the Mabinogion, in "Culhwch ac Olwen," but is mentioned more frequently in the poetry of Taliesin, particularly in "Cad Goddeu," which tells of his battle with otherworld forces; he is helped by his uncle Math ap Mathonwy and his brother Gwydion. As such, I hold that the poem details in battle mentioned in "Math fab Mathonwy," wherein Pryderi is killed.
