The Russian Mathematician who created Tetris. One of the really sad stories of the cold war. The story says that he did not make a penny creating Tetris. The Russian government took all the rights for the game and left him with little. He migrated to the United States to work on other projects.

He currently is a game designer for Microsoft, and together they released a fairly decent puzzle package called Pandora's Box.

His name is oftentimes spelled incorrectly, as i have seen several version on the Tetris variants that bear his name.
