The area in South Kensington which encompasses the Albert Memorial in Hyde Park then moving due south, the Royal Albert Hall, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert museum, and the Natural History Museum
So called as all these buildings were erected during the time Queen Victoria was in mourning after her husband Prince Albert died.
