Also known as "Jamaican Vomiting Sickness", Ackee poisoning is caused by ingesting the unripe fruit of the Blighia Sapia, aka the Ackee tree. The fruit contains a poison that messes with the production of glucose in the liver. Along with vomiting, Ackee poisoning can cause hypoglycaemia, convulsions, and loss of consciousness. It can be prevented by NOT EATING ACKEE FRUIT.
