Abductees Anonymous claims that "many millions" of people have been abducted. Even if you cannot personally remember it happening, it may have happened to you!! AbAnon lists many warning signs of being an abductee, some of which are:
- Have unusual scars or marks with no possible explanation as to how you received them
- Have inexplicably strong fears or phobias
- The feeling of being watched much of the time, especially at night
- Have awoken with soreness in your genitals which cannot be explained
- Have seen a hooded figure in or near your home, especially near your bed
- Have puzzling insomnia or sleep disorders
- Have a difficult time trusting other people, especially those in authority
- Cannot remember anything about an alien encounter
Critics, however, claim that "memories" of alien abduction are implanted fantasies placed by overzealous therapists in the recovered memory community (similar to claims made against those who "remember" incest and ritual Satanic abuse).
